HarborLight Privacy Policy

HarborLight helps you import, scan, store, understand, organize, and act on documents and life-admin records. Because those documents are often sensitive, HarborLight is built to keep them on your own device and inside your own Apple ecosystem wherever possible.

Effective date: August 2, 2026 · Last updated: August 2, 2026

1. Who we are

HarborLight: Life Admin is published by The SAV Solution LLC, a software company based in Florida, USA. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean The SAV Solution LLC, and “you” means the person using HarborLight.

Privacy questions can be sent to owner@thesavsolution.com.

2. No HarborLight account required

HarborLight does not require you to create a separate HarborLight account, username, or password for its core functionality. We do not operate a web account database that stores your HarborLight documents. Apple manages your iCloud identity and any App Store purchases.

3. Information you provide

You choose what goes into HarborLight. That may include documents, photographs, PDFs, screenshots, receipts, bills, insurance records, medical-related paperwork, official correspondence, account information, notes, reminders, names of people or organizations you deal with, and other sensitive material.

You also provide information when you email us for support or with a privacy request. That correspondence is handled through ordinary email and is kept only as long as needed to answer you and keep a reasonable record of the request.

4. Information generated on your device

To make your documents useful, HarborLight creates derived information from what you import, including:

  • OCR text recognized from images, scans, and PDFs
  • Plain-language explanations of what a document appears to say
  • Extracted dates, amounts, reference numbers, and deadlines
  • Timelines showing how records relate over time
  • Suggested actions and reminders
  • Relationship records linking documents, organizations, and people
  • Guided matters that group related records into one ongoing task
  • Your own corrections to anything HarborLight extracted incorrectly

Where applicable, HarborLight masks sensitive identifiers — such as account numbers, policy numbers, and similar strings — in derived summaries, analytics-safe output, and debug-safe output. The original document itself is never altered by that masking and remains under your control.

5. Where your data is stored

Original documents and the information HarborLight generates from them are stored primarily locally on your Apple device. The SAV Solution LLC does not run a server that receives or stores copies of your HarborLight library.

6. iCloud and CloudKit

You may optionally enable Apple iCloud/CloudKit features inside HarborLight for:

  • Private synchronization across your own Apple devices
  • Backups of your HarborLight library
  • Trusted Household sharing
  • Other Apple ecosystem features you turn on yourself

When these features are enabled, your data is stored in your own iCloud account under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. We do not receive your iCloud credentials, and we do not have administrative access to your private CloudKit database. You can turn sync off at any time in HarborLight or in iOS Settings.

7. StoreKit subscriptions

HarborLight uses Apple’s StoreKit for any paid access. Apple processes the purchase, renewal, billing, and refunds. The SAV Solution LLC does not receive your complete Apple payment-card information. We receive only the entitlement information needed to unlock features on your device, plus the aggregated sales and subscription reporting Apple provides to developers.

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

8. Official Source Check

When you choose to use Official Source Check, HarborLight connects to public, allowlisted primary sources — such as government and agency websites, insurers, or manufacturers — to help you confirm information against the organization that issued it.

  • HarborLight does not send your complete document images to those websites.
  • HarborLight is designed not to transmit full private identifiers such as complete account, policy, or government identification numbers.
  • Like any web request, the public website you are checking may receive ordinary web information, including your IP address and browser or network request details.
  • Those websites are operated by third parties and are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

Official Source Check is a user-initiated feature. If you never use it, HarborLight does not make those requests.

9. Trusted Household sharing

Trusted Household sharing is opt-in and per-person. You choose who is invited and which records they can see. Sharing is delivered through Apple’s CloudKit sharing, so invited people access the shared records with their own Apple ID.

You can stop sharing at any time. Stopping sharing removes ongoing access, but it cannot retrieve information a person already viewed, copied, or saved elsewhere.

10. Sensitive documents

HarborLight is designed for exactly the kind of paperwork most people consider sensitive. You decide what to import. We recommend importing only what you actually need organized, using device passcode and biometric protection, and exporting a copy of anything irreplaceable before making large changes.

HarborLight is not intended to be a system of record for a regulated entity, and it is not a HIPAA-covered service.

11. Analytics and diagnostics

HarborLight does not include third-party advertising SDKs, does not show advertisements, and does not sell or share personal information for advertising or cross-app tracking. HarborLight does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

The only diagnostic information we may receive is the crash and performance reporting Apple provides to developers when you have enabled “Share With App Developers” in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. That reporting comes from Apple in aggregated or Apple-privacy-processed form and is not designed to contain your document contents. You can turn it off in iOS Settings at any time.

The thesavsolution.com website is covered separately by the company privacy policy.

12. How information is used

HarborLight uses your information only to:

  • Store, display, search, and organize the records you import
  • Generate explanations, extracted facts, timelines, and suggested actions
  • Sync and back up your data when you enable iCloud/CloudKit
  • Share the specific records you choose through Trusted Household
  • Check information against official sources when you ask it to
  • Unlock the features included with your subscription tier
  • Answer support and privacy messages you send us

We do not use your documents to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

13. Data retention

Because your library lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, your data is retained for as long as you keep it there. It is removed when you delete it, when you delete HarborLight data everywhere, or when you delete the app and its iCloud data.

Support email is retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve your request and keep a basic record of it.

14. Your deletion and control options

  • Delete an individual document at any time.
  • Choose Delete Data From This Device to clear HarborLight data from the device you are using.
  • Choose Delete HarborLight Data Everywhere to remove your HarborLight data from the device and from your synced iCloud/CloudKit storage.
  • Export your data before deleting it, so you keep your own copy.

Deleting HarborLight data does not cancel an App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be managed or canceled through your Apple Account. Step-by-step instructions are on the Privacy Choices page.

15. Security

HarborLight relies on the protections built into Apple’s platform, including device passcode and biometric locks, app sandboxing, encrypted device storage, and iCloud/CloudKit transport and storage protections. Network requests use encrypted connections.

No app, device, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We do not promise that your information can never be accessed, lost, altered, or compromised. Keeping your device updated, locked, and backed up materially improves your protection.

16. Children's privacy

HarborLight is intended for adults managing their own life-admin paperwork. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us directly, email owner@thesavsolution.com and we will address it.

17. International use

The SAV Solution LLC operates from Florida, USA. If you use HarborLight from outside the United States, any information you send us directly — such as a support email — is handled in the United States. Your HarborLight library itself remains on your device and in your own iCloud account, stored according to Apple’s regional practices.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information. Because HarborLight keeps your data under your own control, those controls are available directly in the app; see Privacy Choices.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as HarborLight changes. When we do, we will revise the effective and last-updated dates at the top of this page, and material changes will be described in the app or on this page. Continuing to use HarborLight after an update means you accept the revised policy.
